This project identified three important areas were the Adivasi youth need a strong support system to link them with the employment opportunities. First is to support them to continue the education up to their expectations and ability by establishing proper linkages and second to helping them to find employment in government and private sector as well. Third, is to empower them to avail the affirmative reservation rights for education and employment through awareness building. Therefore, it has been proposed to select a minimum of 100 Adivasi youth every year from 25 Panchayaths of Wayanad and take care of their educational and employment requirement through counseling and trainings. Additionally this projects aims to create groups of educated Adivasi youth in different block Panchayaths of Wayanad to extend the reach of this community support system for education in future.

Project Objectives:

  1. To build a common space for Adivasi youth to accesses, use and collectively act. And to provide a library, computer and internet facilities to empower them through knowledge and exposure to outside world.
  2. To motivate, assist and guide 100 Adivasi youth every year to enroll for higher education.
  3. To Provide coaching classes for them to appear for competitive exams
  4. Create awareness on the educational and reservation rights of Adivasis
  5. Building up of a community support system among Adivasies to help Adivasi children in education by equipping groups of educated Adivasi youths in each Panchayath.
