About us

Today Maher operates out of three states in India (Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Kerala) and has 36 homes (29 children’s homes, 6 women’s homes and 1 men’s home) providing shelter to over 850 children, 300 women including 120 mentally ill women and 31 destitute and aged/mentally ill men.Maher also implements other projects for slum development and village work like “Balwadis” or kindergarten, day care centers, self-help groups, village libraries, awareness programs, coaching classes for school drop-outs, environmental projects and vocational training.Maher is certified by Guidestar as a transparent organization and has been awarded the Seal of Transparency for 2015 after due diligence being conducted by Guidestar.
