About Me
Maher is a home for destitute women and children and homeless men. These homes were started by Sr. Lucy Kurien in February 1997 after she witnessed a horrifying incident where in a man burned alive his pregnant wife. After this shocking incident in her life, Sr. Lucy started various projects for the down trodden, especially homes for battered women and children. Today Maher operates out of three states in India (Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Kerala).
