About us

The organization runs ‘Independent Learning Centers.’The committed children, aged 5 - 21, gain supplementary education through several programs. This allows the children to become independent and successful professionals in their chosen area. They could even be the future generation of leaders at your organization.

Touching Lives also supports other NGOs and schools both in rural and urban areas through teacher training and mentoring programs.

In 2015, the goal was to educate over 200 children and we are now moving forward to supporting more than 250 children on an on-going basis for 2016-2017.

These children come from vulnerable socio-economic background where drop-out ratio from schools is high and there is a need to provide psychological/emotional development support. We also assist the children to attend regular school. The trained teachers use therapeutic learning methods for overall development of children. This involves integrating mental health, education and developing conscious parent-child relationship.

The Vision is “To have every child become an independent l(e)arner.”

The Mission is “To set up quality resource centres (generally termed as Learning Centre & Community Centre) that allow children to RECOVER, DISCOVER & DO what they realize for themselves and for the world”.

Infrastructure: We have 4 community centers – which run on the skywalk and in open spaces within the slums. We have one rented learning center and the children are supported with the travelling expense for reaching to the centre from distance. We are planning to start 2 new community centers in the year 2016-17.
