About us

Children from high-risk communities often lack a consistent figure they can look up to for support, aspire towards or model positive behaviour from. On the other hand, educated urban youth are becoming increasingly socially conscious but are unaware of where they can contribute their time in a sustained, impactful manner over & above their academic, professional & social commitments. The Lighthouse Project aims to serve as an accessible, flexible & youth friendly platform where volunteers can be trained & guided as they mentor these children with the goal of improving their confidence levels, interpersonal skills & equipping them with critical life skills.

Each mentor is paired with a child based on gender, location & interests. Mentors plan activities & excursions based on mutual interests & spend a minimum of 4 hours per month over 8 months
