About us

In the year 1998 a group of educated youth at 98 km distance from Kolkata were sensitized by the poverty, misery and difficulties of a section of people of the area and the neigh- bouring rural of South Section. They decided to start a voluntary organization for the uplift of deprived people. This is the beginning the Shibkalinagar(N) Welfare Society. is a gross root voluntary organization working amidst poor and disadvantages of the Society in a group of remote villages of Kakdwip & sonarpur –Block. The spirit of following apathy and deep concern for the poor and disadvantages is the very society of which the organization is build. This sprit is the guiding force that members own and sustain ability of Shibkalinagar(N) Welfare Society.  as a grassroot organization. Since, then the endavour continues to help the poor people in a bigger way and sense. During the journey many changes and developments had happened but the original guiding force remaining the same.

Shibkalinagar(N) Welfare Society.  is registered in the year1998 under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961,  registered under FCRA registration Act 1976 (Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India) and 12AA, 80G income tax exemption of Govt. of India. Now, Shibkalinagar(N) Welfare Society.  is a very well known voluntary organization working in South 24 Parganas.

As per constitution, the organization is being   governed by a Managing committee, which is an elected body of the members. The committee looks after all financial and programme affairs of the organization. The day to day activities of Shibkalinagar(N) Welfare Society are being carried out by some sub-committees efficiently assisted by a core functional team of paid and voluntary workers, Shibkalinagar(N) Welfare Society.  has formed the people’s committees and women Development Groups at the village level with a view to  ensure participation of the people in development  process
