About us
SSP has fulfilled its mission promote sustainable community development through empowerment of women through entrepreneurship development and leadership support. Over the years, women have emerged as decision makers in their families and have mobilized their local Panchayats and communities.
SSP and its Group of Social Enterprises (SSP Group) facilitates women in self help groups, social enterprises and community led initiatives that offer a wide range of financial services, skill-building and livelihoods generation, sanitation and health-enhancing opportunities to build resilience among rural and urban women, girls, youth and communities. They provide information, products and services in impact sectors such as clean energy, safe water and sanitation, health and nutrition, agriculture and food security. SSP and its social enterprises forge partnerships with the Government and private sector to scale up the hybrid model, benefiting women and the people at the grassroots.
Since 2009-2015, over 60,000 women were empowered and in turn impacted over a 4 million people across 2000 villages. SSP operates in vulnerable and climate threatened areas of Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
Community initiatives and peer-to-peer exchanges help us advance our mission to a larger canvas. Our proven models are being replicated in similar contexts in countries such as Kenya, Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh and Indonesia through local women groups.
SSP’s initiatives are strengthened through women’s leadership, partnerships with local government bodies, state governments and corporate partners. We take pride in having kindled a progressive model centered on women empowerment to steer community empowerment and resilience.
