About us

SSM runs one of the largest rural residential schools in India, imparting school education to about 4000 rural boys and girls. Many small projects are initiated for improving the quality of teaching and learning process. Anand Balgram is a home for deprived children. 8-10 children live with a Mother. The Balgram is taking care of 108 such children ensuring homely atmosphere and education for better prospects of each child. SSM also runs Balak Mandir, a remand home accommodating 150 children. Sagroli Sunrise is a well-designed project to promote rural athletes, started in 2006. Students in the project have bagged many prizes in Marathons and other events at district and state level. Utkarsh Vocational Training Center was established in 2009 with an objective to motivate the school going children towards Technical Education and to equip the rural unemployed youth with vocational skills. We emphasize life skills and value education equally with the technical. The youth, trained at the center, either start their own business or join the respective industry. Agriculture is the only source of livelihood of the community in the area. With an aim to develop the Agriculture sector, SSM started the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in 2012.  The KVK is supported by Indian Council of Agriculture Research. SSM has brought a change in the lives of over 17000 families from 40 villages through Natural Resource Development program in past 20 years. The Village Knowledge Center, established in 2004, has been empowering the rural people with power of ICT. We have coordinated with various agencies and constructed 500 Low Cost Houses for the shelter-less people. SSM also works for the welfare of working Donkeys through Equine Welfare Project in Nanded district.
