About us

SRDS main focus is implementing borewell recharge through Rain Water Harvesting thereby helping water impoverished farmers have an abundant supply of water to irrigate their crops.
We also educate community members about the need to restore the water table through various water harvesting methods. We implement direct and indirect water harvesting solutions like bore well recharge and rooftop water harvesting on a partial cost recovery basis to sustain the program. To date we have recharged 1500 + borewells (even dried up borewells) in 10 states of India. 
We also empower women through microfinance resources to give independence in their lives. With more than 460 Self Help Groups operating in the Dharwad and Gadag areas we are assisting women to develop small business and sources of incme to support their families and lives.  You can see more about our work on our website here. or our Facebook page @SankalpaRuralDevelopmentSociety.

We are a vibrant group of people working to bring water to the farmers to assist them and their families to stay on the farms and grow healthy and abundant crops.  Volunteering with us will be a rewarding effort on your part as the work is varied and interesting.  Anything from assisting us with IT solutions, to setting up systems in our office in Hubli, to helping our team train the SHG ladies in accounts and small business management.   We have international volunteers working with us and assisting us to develop more efficient practices
