About us
Sahara Foundation is a non-profit social organization for Rural, Urban and backward class Initiatives established in 2013, that works towards social change at the grass-roots level across India through its Activity. Foundation is committed to empowering marginalized people to lead a dignified life with access to livelihood, resources, rights and justice. Sahara foundation supports people-oriented initiatives for alleviation of poverty and discrimination among some of the most disadvantaged communities in India. Volunteers of Sahara foundations engage in a wide range of activities including awareness raising; organizing communities; perspective training and capacity building; documentation and advocacy across rural, urban and tribal India. It also works from food security to education; natural resources to livelihood generation; land alienation to urban concerns; untouchability to governance, agricultural issues to labour rights and empowerment of women.
