About us

Vision
We envisage to continually respond to changing social realities through the development, application of interdisciplinary knowledge, towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.

Mission Pulicat 
The Mission Pulicat aims to work with the communities in the Irukkam island to realize the Sustainable Development Goal Number 11, i.e., to create sustainable communities with focus on a just society providing equal access to resources; adequate, safe and affordable basic services like housing, health, education and transport. Sustainable livelihoods are a special focus to improve economy of the habitat and strengthen social and environmental links between urban, peri-urban and rural areas.

Whether you’re studying, retired or between jobs, volunteering with PKS is a great way to make a real difference around the world.

We regularly recruit voluntary interns to support teams within PKS. These internships usually last between one and six months and are based at our office in Coimbatore.

Interns are recruited to volunteer on specific projects in teams across all our directorates, working in the fields of:

  • Events
  • Marketing
  • Corporate Partnerships

  • Fundraising
  • Policy and Campaigns
  • IT
  • Health Information and Community Health Engagement
  • Research Funding
