About us
Netherlands Leprosy Relief Foundation (NLRF) is supporting the
National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) of India since 1993 and presently
has presence in 120 districts of 6 states of the country- Bihar, Jharkhand,
West Bengal, UP, Uttarakhand, Delhi and recently taken Rajasthan. NLRF works
closely with the state and national governments for the cause of leprosy. NLRF
support is towards strengthening and improving quality of leprosy services on
one hand, and improving the quality of life of persons affected by leprosy on
other hand. “Netherlands Leprosy Relief
aims at a world in which sufferings caused by Leprosy does not exist anymoreâ€
Major activities of NLR Foundation are developing SELF CARE
GROUPS to prevent disabilities and heal ulcers in persons living in leprosy
colonies and in villages. More than 5000 persons are being benefitted. Aids
& Appliances are provided to needy persons. Support to continue school EDUCATION
to more than 1742 children of persons affected by leprosy is continued. MEDICAL
CAMPS in leprosy colonies of Delhi and SURGICAL CAMPS in Uttarakhand
are held for deformity corrections. Eligible & willing youth is facilitated
to go for VOCATIONAL TRAINING. NLR Foundation also facilitates BASIC
AMENITIES for comprehensive rehabilitation of persons living in leprosy
colonies.

Why work with us
Person
affected by leprosy and their dependents use to face discrimination, poor access
to government services, poverty and low self-esteem. They need to be encouraged
and enabled to overcome disabilities, poverty and need support for earning
dignified income.
