Manav Sadhan Vikas Sanstha –Vocational Training Programme for slum area of Mumbai.

MSVS and JSS Sindhudurg continue to support employability skills programmes in rural areas of Sindhudurg and the adjoining Ratnagiri districts. In August 2011, MSVS launched its vocational training programmes in Tailoring and Beauty Care in Mumbai for the benefit of women from nearby shanty towns. The success of any well-meaning programme aiming at human development is assured when an NGO that is committed to holistic and integrated development of a community joins hands with the private sector equally committed to efficient and accessible labor for its productivity enhancement. This is what leads to a ‘win- win’ situation.

MSVS’s endeavor to enable underprivileged women and men in Mumbai to stand on their own feet and live life with dignity found a perfect match in the Godrej Group that had committed itself to a national target of training one Million rural and urban men and women for enhancement of skills and faster generation of employment during next few years. As part of the Group’s ‘Good and Green’ employability initiative, the company had launched a unique program – ‘Godrej Saloni’. This project aimed to train unemployed rural and urban women to become beauticians in "Beauty, Hair Care and Mehendi Application". In this quest, the Godrej Group joined hands with MSVS. The company supported the initial set up costs and products needed for the training program. Our 8 batches of 400 youth (students) completed the training program in March 2014 in Beauty and Health Care – Basic, Advance, Tailoring – Basic, Driving, Mehendi. From April enrolled 80 students for Beauty and Health Care, Mehandi, Tailoring – Basic and Advance( Stitch Craft) course. For Tailoring training programs in Basic and Advance (Stitch Craft), SNDT – women University joined hands with MSVS.
