About us

Sometimes great ideas start small, and this was the case with the Light of Life Trust. With four founding members and Villy Doctor, our non-government organisation came into existence in 2002 to help empower the most vulnerable sections of the Indian society. Focusing on rural areas, the main aim has always been to look at sustainable and supportive programs to strengthen the rural community.  Our goal is to educate, empower and equip, so as to lead to long term change.Project Anando-Education: To help the underprivileged children complete their secondary school education, by reinstating school drop outs / probable school drop outs in schools. The goal is not just literacy, but an all round development of each child with a quality education. Anando approach is three-pronged (3Es) :a. Educate- We provide them free Education materials (Text books, notebooks, schoolbags, uniforms), conduct free daily coaching classes in Math and Englishb. Empower-Personality development workshops on weekends.c. Equip-Anando plus program aims at career guidance and vocation training. Those desirous of continuing higher education are also supported & helped to seek admissions to colleges in their fields of interest. The Project Anando has reached out to over 9000 children from more than 426 villages across the state of Maharashtra.
Project Jagruti helps the rural underprivileged women to earn livelihood through skill training program. It also aims at constructing old age homes, homes for underprivileged children, Medical Diagnostic center and a Community center at one place.

Through Project Aangan, LOLT is setting up a hospice for terminally-ill to live a life of dignity.
