About us

Kshitij is a Mumbai based NGO that employs adults with intellectual disabi.lities to create exquisite hand
crafted items and chocolates. Our participants have different types of intellectual disabilities caused by
conditions such as Down's Syndrome, Autisim and Brain Damage. In the sheltered and nurturing
environment of our workshops, they are supervised by professional instructors as well as their own
family members engaged in various recreational activities with their peers and provided with a salary for
their work. We not only provide them with paid employment, but through the therapeutic mediums of
creative and culinary activities, enable them to foster self-expression, stress management and emotional
growth. These adults are trained in Stencil Painting, Block Printing and making chocolates.

We constantly require support of volunteers to help us with the artwork, in exhibitions & marketing our
products. We also require help with fundraising from corporates and individuals.
