About us

Khelshala was launched on August 13, 2009 in Village Attawa for squash, Chandigarh and its second site was inaugurated on 2012 in Village Majra for Tennis, Punjab. Satinder Pal Bajwa, former manager and mentor of 8 times World Squash Champion, Jansher Khan and former Director of Squash at Harvard University from 1999-2010 founded the program. At the time of the launch, 35 underprivileged children from Village Attawa – Chandigarh were selected based on their athletic, academic and leadership skills. Today, the program caters for 100 children on both sites – 70 at Attawa & 30 at Majra - and is committed to enhance the future of underprivileged children by building life skills through a program known as S.A.Y, Sport (S), Academics (A) and Yoga (Y) for wellbeing.

Sport – Develop Team Work, Responsibility and Character.

Academics – Inculcate the ethics of learning, reasoning through education.

Yoga – Let each child embrace well-being through association of Mind and Body

Since its opening in 2009, Khelshala has touched the lives of over 200 children, out of which there has been a group of 70 children in Attawa (squash facility) and 30 children in Majra Punjab (tennis facility) attending regularly and are provided with a comprehensive all-round support that exposes them to athletics, academics and leadership skills through our S.A.Y program. Detailed information about this and Khelshala can be found on our website www.khelshala.in.
