About us
Cankids kidscan builds capacity and empowers child cancer patients, survivors and their parents, as well as Social Support Teams working in the field of childhood cancer. It develops low cost models for sustainable change – including chattai clinics, learning – activity clinics, Home away from home, Pediatric Palliative Care Day care & Transition Homes and Canshala – Taklu Takli ki Pathshala. As a family support group, Cankids team works Patient Navigators & Advocates to provide the entire spectrum of 18 support services to children with cancer and their families, from moment of diagnosis through treatment and after – into survivorship on the one hand and relapse, palliation, terminal care and bereavement support on the other. This includes medical support, hospital programs, educational support, emotional and psychological support, nutritional, accommodation and other logistical support, information, awareness and advocacy. The medical support program in particular aims to ensure that no child suffers for lack of treatment for want of finance. To this end the largest part of its budgets are for medical financial support.

Vision is to achieve international survival rates (75-90%) for cancer
children in India through support in the medical, emotional, educational,
awareness and research fields as compared to India having a similar
percentage as the mortality rate. To achieve this CanKids works with a strong
network of employees & volunteers who together help create the change.
