About us

Amar Seva Sangam is a premier organization in the field of disability management. Our focus is on rural areas. Our approach is to establish a centralized resource center and Catalyst for change by involving the village community.  The organization has been founded and run by physically challenged persons and have built a strong team and infrastructure and delivering quality services.

Sri.S.Ramakrishnan, a young 21 year old quadra boldly established the organization in 1981 to showcase what mind power can deliver to change the society. Sri S. Sankara Raman, a Chartered Accountant and a wheel chair user, affected by muscular dystrophy, joined him in 1992. Their dream is to build a Valley for the disabled where equality prevails among all.

From a small beginning to a 30 acres campus the organization has expanded its services to more than 13,000 disabled in 800+ villages.

The organization has the following programs:

1. Institution Based Rehabilitation through residential, day-care, out and in patients services including disability assessment, aids and appliances across all age groups for all disabilities.

2. Educating  physically challenged nursery to post graduation.
             
3. Skill Development of Disabled through  free vocational training in  Computer,  Advanced Information Technology, Typewriting, Notebook Making and Book Binding, Tailoring & Garment making, Handicrafts, Cell Phone Servicing, Servicing of Home appliances, Soft Skill Training.

4. Integrated Training and Development Centre for the Physically Challenged.

5. Village Based Rehabilitation for mobilizing communities for inclusion of disabled persons.

6. Advocating the rights of disability.

Why work with us

We welcome people volunteers to help us.

1.Rural & in-house Voluntary services: involves contribution in various activities undertaken by ASSA.

2.Rotational work in the following areas: Physiotherapy, School, Canteen, Vocational Training centre, Security etc .

3.Administration/ office work - involves checking addresses, preparing standard correspondences, checking the office registers etc., both with & w/o computer.

4.Interact with Disabled adults living in the campus & disabled children's parents, and give reports & suggestions on how to deal with them and how successful the current program is etc.

5.Impact study of the people who have passed the Rehab. & Vocational Training.

6.Field study - involves preparing questionnaire & conducting interviews with rural public - Objective is to study the impact of ASSA's field activities.

7.History compiling - involves, the events pertaining to ASSA from inception, focusing on various aspects, such as media reports compilation, growth in the various infrastructure & facilities, investment / beneficiary ratio (like a GDP growth study), general evolution of ASSA's concepts & philosophies.

8.Office routines & system analysis - involves checking office routines & systems,analyzing, reporting - higher level of administrative knowledge required.

9.Management study & analysis - reviewing Mission statement, vision achievement, where we stand now.
