About us
Apne Aap Women's Collective (AAWC) is an anti-trafficking organization that serves the women and their children in the red light districts of Falkland Road and Kamathipura, Mumbai through our three programs: Umeed (for women in brothel-based prostitution), Udaan (for their daughters between 5 to 18 years) and Umang (for their children between 2.5 to 5 years). By providing our beneficiaries with the tools and resources to create a better quality of life, we seek to empower those women who have been trafficked into brothel-based prostitution, prevent the inter-generational cycle of prostitution amongst their daughters and empower their children in becoming healthy and responsible citizens of our society. The services provided to all our beneficiaries include health, education, empowerment, finance, recreation and shelter home placement service.
